Opening an Etsy shop is a bit like giving birth for the first time. Exciting, exhausting, and terrifying. I think my hair might even be disheveled! Would you like to meet my new baby?
Maybe we should start with birth pictures?
I’m starting out with twenty-five listings, but I have sooooooo many millions of ideas floating around in my head and fabric in the waiting. When you open a shop, I think there is a tendency to want to wait to open until everything is “perfect” and your pictures are just so and all that, but if I waited for perfect, this would never be happening!
What am I selling? Primarily I’m focusing on fashion dolls for preschoolers. I create bags that turn into beds and all manner of colorful outfits. I have plans for more accessories such as purses and hats and mittens and aprons. I’ve been incorporating more and more designer fabrics into my work which is really exciting for me. Here’s a peak at what I’ve listed so far…
I also want to mention that I was technically ready to open shop last night but I had taken this whole shop-opening business to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament yesterday afternoon and realized that I didn’t want to open shop on Halloween. Instead, I chose today. The third anniversary of my ZouZou’s baptism and the Feast of All Saints. I want to be reminded that I’m surrounded by a my dear friends in heaven every time I click into Etsy.
I’m really blessed to have work I love!

I put together a facebook page quickly this morning and it is here.
This is just the beginning…lots of things to do in the next week. I might not post daily like in October, but I do have a few more posts I want to write about opening shop and I’m sure I’ll have updates.
